Hey y’all! I am Yasmyne Wells.
Hey y’all! I am Yasmyne Wells.
I am a Louisiana based Licensed Horticulturist whose work is deeply rooted in creativity, purpose, and a fond love of the outdoors.
My love of gardening would be complicated to explain in a few words because it means so much to me, who I am, through and through; it is my calling.
There’s something awe-inspiring about planting a tiny seed and watching it grow through each stage until it’s time to harvest.
Like seriously, how does a cucumber seed grow into a fruit that is 200–300 times its seed size? It’s unexplainable, yet it happens.
Gardening is a reflection of my relationship with God through Jesus Christ. It teaches me patience, because God is never in a hurry, and gratefulness, because God shows me favor.
My love of gardening encouraged me to pursue a B.S. in Agricultural Sciences, with a concentration in Plant and Soil Sciences and ultimately start my business, Just Growing Here, LLC. As a Licensed Horticulturist and agricultural educator, I bring extensive knowledge of plant identification, selection, cultivation, and plant health into the work that I do. Through JGH, I advocate for gardening enthusiasts and budding growers while providing landscaping and landscape design, plant cultivation, home and school garden support, and agricultural education.
I believe that everyone has a green thumb, you just have to seek it. #justgrowinghere
When I’m not outdoors getting my hands dirty and “basking in the sun,” you can find me:
eating at all of the good food spots…literally
immersing myself in my Spotify playlists
traveling the world
resting in my bed
annoying my dog Jazz
spending lots of time with my family and closest friends
researching any and everything that intrigues me
taking aesthetically pleasing photos with my iPhone + Digital Camera
